Evidence-Based Therapy to Help You Move Forward
Our Services
Tailored therapy for your individual needs
At ABle Therapies, we offer a range of evidence-based psychological therapies and assessments tailored to your individual needs. Each approach is grounded in research and delivered in a compassionate, collaborative way. Together, we will choose the approach (or combination of approaches) that best supports your goals.
Finding the Right Approach
You do not need to decide which therapy is “right” before getting in touch. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your goals and difficulties and agree on a tailored plan that feels manageable and aligned with your needs.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviours. When we feel stuck, unhelpful thinking patterns and avoidance behaviours often keep difficulties going. CBT helps you identify these patterns and develop practical strategies to respond differently.
It is structured, goal-focused, and particularly effective for anxiety, depression, panic, OCD, and stress-related difficulties.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you build psychological flexibility and the ability to respond to difficult thoughts and feelings without being overwhelmed by them. Rather than trying to eliminate distress, ACT focuses on changing your relationship with it, while helping you reconnect with your values and take meaningful action.
This approach is especially helpful for anxiety, chronic stress, life transitions, and individuals feeling “stuck.”
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain process distressing or traumatic memories that feel “stuck.” When experiences overwhelm our natural coping systems, they can continue to trigger intense emotional or physical reactions. EMDR uses structured bilateral stimulation to support the brain in reprocessing these memories, reducing their emotional intensity and helping you move forward.
It is highly effective for trauma and PTSD, as well as other anxiety-related difficulties.
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Mindfulness involves learning to pay attention to the present moment with openness and curiosity, rather than judgment. In therapy, mindfulness-based techniques can help reduce rumination, improve emotional regulation, and increase resilience to stress.
These skills are often integrated into other therapeutic approaches and can be particularly helpful for anxiety, depression, burnout, and managing overwhelming thoughts.
ADHD Assessments
We offer comprehensive ADHD assessments for young people/ adults who may be experiencing longstanding difficulties with attention, organisation, impulsivity, or focus. The assessment process involves a detailed clinical interview, standardised questionnaires, and developmental history to ensure an accurate and thorough understanding of your experiences.
Where appropriate, recommendations are provided for treatment, workplace or educational support, and ongoing psychological intervention.
You are able. We’re here to help you see it.
